![]() ![]() My earliest memory of becoming interested in dinosaurs was when playing a hand-me-down copy of Disney's Dinosaur on PlayStation One. I called it Disney-Dinosaur, and would play regularly despite not fully understanding how and what to do in the game. I am struggling to recall but I think I played this game for quite some time before watching the film it was based off of, both were released in 2000, but I would've gotten the game when the PS2 was released and the stash of PS1 games were handed onto me. I love the film very much these days, still. On deciding to write this intro part of the page, I searched up the old game and was struck with immense nostalgia and delight. It, like the film, reminded me of the beginnings of my love for the Carnotaurus. Far more vestigial than the t-rex, and with horns that do little to help me take him more seriously, he is the scariest dino in the setting, but yet as I'm lucky enough not to live in the times of the dinosaur, I find him endearingly hilarious in his proportions. I imagine in another life I may be pecked to death by giant chickens for my hubris. While this wave of nostalgia was flowing through me, I saw the game with modern eyes for the first time. It is amazing what my young eyes fleshed into the wonder of this game. Yet, it was still endearing to see such an old friend after so many years.
